  6. Consider all the Assignments relating to the topic you chose in Assignment 9.1 that you’ve completed in this module. Using the information you’ve already created, write an introduction and conclusion paragraph that could be used for a paper or speech on the topic. Here is an example of a paper that I wrote last quarter! Module 9

  7. One of the issues facing women in higher education today is how universities are retaining students who fall into the category of the “triple minority” (which will be explained later in this piece). Many of my African American female acquaintances have experienced both defeats and triumphs while working within the higher education field. This paper will examine those individuals and the obstacles facing other women of the “triple minority”. Ideas for how universities can alter their current programs to accommodate these types of women will be examined as well. Introduction….

  8. Conclusion…. There are many resources for colleges to use in order to assure the success of “triple minority” students in their organization. African American women of poor financial status can gain a lot through programs like the ones studied in this paper. Many universities have programs in place like the Upward Bound program at the University of Dayton and the Minority Affairs recruitment program at the Ohio State Universities. Module 9 continued…

Module 9 continued…Conclusion…. • Through programs like these and many more, women in the “triple minority” can learn to excel in the arena of higher education. • If the notion of three strikes and your out has any validity to it, women in the “triple minority” can not afford to add the fourth strike of being uneducated to the score sheet.
