  3. Stories have a plot, or a series of events that center on a problem, or conflict.

  4. CONFLICT?? a problem… • A PROBLEM between two characters or groups.

  5. CONFLICT?? a problem… • Problems between a character and a force of nature.

  6. CONFLICT ?? a problem… • Problems that characters have within their minds.

  7. RISING ACTION Events that happen in the story that move the action along as the problem builds up and causes complications.

  8. CLIMAX!!!! Where the action of the story builds and the conflict must be faced. The turning point of the story right before the problem is solved. The climax usually leaves readers on edges of their seats.

  9. RESOLUTION.. Action winds down…. …AND…. The problem is solved!!!
