  2. Activity A: Overview of Program • In this program, we will talk about AIDS, other STDs and teen pregnancy, which are having a devastating impact on youth. More youth are getting infected with HIV and other STDs than ever before. • This program focuses on the knowledge, attitudes, and prevention skills related to HIV, other STDs and pregnancy. We will also focus on relationship issues, sexual behavior, decision-making, and negotiating in difficult situations.

Activity C: Group Rules • Confidentiality – everything is private, no gossiping • No Killer Statements – show respect, no “that’s stupid” • Be Supportive of Each Other – do not laugh • Use “I” Statements – talk about how YOU feel, think and act, not your friends • No Personal Stories • Right To Pass – do not have to answer all questions • Listen to Others • Don’t Interrupt • Allow everyone to Participate

  5. Activity E: Brainstorming about Teens and Sex • Why do you think some teens your age are having sex? • What are some consequences of having sex? • What are some ways to prevent the negative consequences of sex?

  6. Activity F: Goals and Dreams Timeline • Pass out worksheet and allow students time to complete it. Discuss some of what their goals and dream are. • Discuss obstacles that can prevent them from reaching their goals. • How can we avoid these obstacles? • What can you do to make sure you don’t get pregnant or get an STD like HIV?
