  3. Access to the On-Line Application • Use your web browser and go to www.coj.net and select the Recreation and CommunityServicesDepartment from the drop down menu located under the sub-title of “Office” and click “GO”. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  4. From the Recreation and Community Services Department’s home page, select “Grant Compliance Office” FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  5. The Grant Compliance Office web page has a link to “Public Service Grants”. Select this option. This link will take you to the FY 2012 Public Service Grants on-line application link. Scroll down this page until you locate the FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application link and select it. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  6. The website will instruct each applicant to create an “Account Log-in”. Follow the instructions and make sure you use a valid E-Mail address. Your password must be at least 5 characters. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation E-Mail containing a link to your on-line grant application that can be accessed at any time. Save this link as an internet “favorite”. • You will not need to create a new account if you already have one set up. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  7. Enter your personal password, not the password you received from attending the FY 2012 Public Service Grant application training. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  8. Enter your organization’s Federal Tax Identification number with no hyphens. The system will verify the Tax ID with the IRS database. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  9. Complete the grant eligibility quiz. All questions are mandatory. Failure to pass this quiz will result in an incomplete application and the applicant will not be allowed to proceed any further. Successfully passing the application quiz will allow the applicant to proceed to the rest of the application for completion. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  10. The grant application has (8) pages of questions. Those that are mandatory will have a red {*} beside the question. Applicants must use the space provided and ensure that all answers are concise. There are a couple of methods available to navigate through the application. You can select page numbers in consecutive order or in a random manner. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  11. Page (9) of the application provides detailed information regarding the requirements of all attachments. Please review the requirements for all attachments in detail to determine what will apply for your organization’s grant proposal. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  12. Attachments • (5) of the attachments are downloadable and can be located by selecting “Documents for Download and Upload” link in the upper left hand corner of the on-line application. The system is set to link to the Grant Compliance Office web site within a new internet browser window. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

Attachments Continued • Download the required documents from the Grant Compliance Office web site and save them to your computer with a file name that contains the Document Name and Organization (i.e. Leadership and Staff Demographics.Serving You, Meeting Today’s Challenges) • When ready to upload an attachment, select the document name from the drop down menu located at the bottom of page (9). Select the “Browse” button – it will prompt you to find the document within your computer files. FY 2012 Public Service Grant On-Line Application Training

  17. Review My Application Once all files have been successfully uploaded and attached, select the “Review My Application” tab to review your finalized application. If the application is complete, select the “Printer Friendly Version” link and print your application before final submission. If the application is correct, select the “Submit” button and if the application has all required questions answered and attachments uploaded, an E-Mail message will be sent.   18. Notes • Do not close your grant application window or all work will be lost without saving your work. • Periodically save your work. Each time you save your work, you will have to log-in again. • If you did not answer all questions and/or upload all required documents, you will receive an error message indicating what is missing. • Use whole numbers with no decimals or commas • Set up the grant application link as an internet “favorite” so you can quickly access your incomplete grant application when needed. Otherwise, you can use the link on the Public Service Grant web site. • Save a copy of the finalized application for your files • There is no “Spell Check” with the grant on-line application. As an option, we suggest you copy and paste from a Word and/or Excel document into the application. • The FY 2012 Public Service Grant applications must be submitted electronically no later than 5:00 p.m. eastern standard time on March 15, 2011.
