    3. Second Grade is Super! We have a lot to learn. Things like... Language Arts Math Science Social Studies Physical Education Music Computers Social Skills Responsibility Working With Others Art Much, Much More!!!

    4. Second grade concepts are based on the Utah State Core Curriculum New integrated core Review desktop pamphlet Second grade is a mastery year

    6. Language Arts Read, Read, Read!! At least 20 minutes every day. 6 Reading units Phonics and word skills Writing Sharing Cards

    7. Math Number Sense Money Time Fractions Double digit addition and subtraction Math journals Manipulatives White boards

    8. Science Rocks Animals Plants Matter Heat Light

    9. Other to look forward to…

    10. Classroom Behavior Students are expected to Be respectful Listen Follow directions Work without disturbing others

    11. Weekly Homework Homework is assigned to encourage responsibility, parent involvement, and teach good study habits. Reading bags Come home on Monday and are due Friday of the same week. It includes a book to read and a comprehension activity. Homework packets Come home Monday and are due Friday of the same week. It includes a spelling, math, and reading activity

    12. Planners Come to school and go home from school daily. Should be signed nightly by parents. Record home reading minutes. Invites parent and student communication.

    13. Grading System We will use Davis District’s new grading system. Progress will be reported as Achieving Developing Not yet Modified

    14. Absent Students If you are absent you must Check with Mrs. Fulks for the work you missed. Complete the work. Remember to turn it in!

    15. Things to bring It would help our class if you could donate any of these: Five glue sticks 1-2 boxes of tissue Colored pencils Please sign donation board for other items.
