Improve nutritional status and health of children and women and their families by: 1) Preparing highly trained, culturally competent professionals who are equipped to become leaders in pediatric nutrition practice; 2) Changing behaviors and systems in ways that will increase opportunities and positive nutritional outcomes for children, adolescents and women; 3) Proving technical assistance and continuing education to nutrition practitioners in the southwest region

Clinical Programs

Clinical portion of program includes supervised practice completed by trainees throughout the 2 yr combined MS/DI program. Accomplished in CADE approved sites throughout New Mexico including:

UNM Children’s Hospital and Santa Fe Indian Hospital

Gallup Indian Medical Center and Pueblo of Isleta

San Juan Regional Medical Center, Farmington, NM (Navajo Nation)
