  2. Josiah’s Cultural Living Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign…and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father; and he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father. (2 Chronicles 34:1-3)

  3. Josiah’s Seeking God For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father. (2 Chronicles 34:3)

  4. God Wants People to Seek for Him The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who act wisely, who seek after God. (Psalm 14:2) And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward Him and find Him. (Acts 17:26-27) No one understands; no one seeks for God. (Romans 3:11)

  5. God Calls People to Seek for Him For thus says the Lord…“Seek me and live.”(Amos 5:4) Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually! (1 Chronicles 16:11)

  6. God Promises to Be Found By Those Who Seek Him Those who seek Me diligently find Me. (Proverbs 8:17) You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:13-14)

  7. The Opportunity to Seek God is Now & Restricted to This Life For He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2) And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of the many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:27-28)
