How to. Remove and replace a Vauxhall Zafira strut. Jack up the vehicle and support on axle stands. Disconnect the anti roll bar link. Slacken and remove the lower shock absorber bolts. Ease the shock absorber away from the hub assembly.

  1. How to Remove and replace a Vauxhall Zafira strut

  2. Jack up the vehicle and support on axle stands.

  3. Disconnect the anti roll bar link

  4. Slacken and remove the lower shock absorber bolts

  5. Ease the shock absorber away from the hub assembly

  6. From under the bonnet, remove the windscreen wiper and the nut holding down the offside scuttle panel

  7. While an assistant supports the shock absorber, slacken and remove the upper strut nut and cup.

  8. Remove the shock absorber from under the wing. Replacement, simply reverse the steps you took to remove the strut, if possiblelubricate all bolts and nuts with copper grease on reassembly

  9. Correctly position the brake hose support bracket before tightening the lower shock absorber bolts

  10. The strut was removed to replace a broken coil spring.

  11. If you are replacing the spring yourself ensure you use a suitable spring compressor

  12. Before loosening the top shock absorber nut.
