Big corporations • TI Innovation Challenge • Must use 3+ TI parts, which can be obtained free from TI • $10k, $7.5k, $5k for 1st,2nd,3rd place prizes • Submissions due 5/24/2015 • NI LabVIEWStudent Design Competition • Must use LabVIEW • $1k first place & $500 2nd place, plus pass/accommodations to NIWeek conference • Submissions due 5/31/2015 (?) • Criteria • Creativity, relevance, difficulty, quality of report • IP • They own the physical submission, but you own the design* *Kind of, unless they or their customers need to “borrow” it…

From the University… • Leung Fund • Up to $2k for ECE students doing “extraordinary” projects • Submissions due by the 4th week of semester, but may still be considered afterwards depending on $$ remaining • Review team strives to have funding distributed by early October • NCIIA • $5k-$20k in funding in 3 stages • Submissions deadlines by season: 10/4, 2/6, 5/8 • Judged on business model & social impact in addition to technical design • OSBI • Consulting arm of the business school • Can be used as a resource if your projects lead to startups
