  2. Marine Corps History • Established November 10th 1775 • Disbanded after the American Revolution • Reestablished shortly after because of constant threats of war • “On Foot” Solders of the U.S. Navy

Becoming an Officer • A 4 year degree is required • Officer Candidate School (During College)- 2 6 week sessions- 1 10 week session • Must be selected and approved to go by Colonels, Majors, and other officers • Officer Candidate Course - Post Graduation • Upon Completion of either route, you will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant

Personal Interview – Elmore • Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Elmore • Marines 18 ½ year • Chose the Marines because everything else seemed easy and he wanted a challenge to push himself to his limits • “Being a Marine means He’s done his part to support this country for his family.” • Plans to stay in the Marines until retirement, than pursue something else • His best advice when picking a branch is to “Weigh the options”
