My Philosophy of Teachnology. Sara Larsen EDU 210 Module 12. “Pre Edu 210”. Before EDU 210, I had no idea as to how I wanted to teach with technology. As I’m learning more about what Ed tech is out there, the closer I am to defining my Philosophy of Teachnology.

  1. My Philosophy of Teachnology Sara Larsen EDU 210 Module 12

  2. “Pre Edu210” • Before EDU 210, I had no idea as to how I wanted to teach with technology. • As I’m learning more about what Ed tech is out there, the closer I am to defining my Philosophy of Teachnology. • Here are a few highlights of my EDU 210 journey... Photo taken by Sara Larsen

  3. Where to Start? I chose to use WordPress as my ePortfolio. With the addition of each module, it has become the center of my technology interests, things I’ve learned and my opinions on certain Ed. Technologies and philosophies. Ultimately it’s transformed into a collection of my Philosophy of Teachnology.

  4. Real-life Applications Not only did this class cover technology applications and philosophies, it acknowledged issues that are associated with the use of technology. A real-life issue that we discussed in Module 4 was cyberbullying. We learned how to deal with it when it arises in our classroom/school and in our discussion forum we also looked at to what extent cyberbullying is the responsibility of the teacher. It’s really important that we discuss such issues as knowing how to deal with them is a big part of being an educator.

  5. Resources & Connections Through my Professional Learning Network (PLN) I’ve been exposed to many different resources from the people I follow on Twitter. I’ve come to realize that through semester there are lots of different ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. The people I follow always have tons of ideas and insights into technology integration!

  6. How philosophy of Teachnology will impact me as a teacher First off, The Philosophy of Teachnology combines two concepts: The philosophy of education and The use of technology in the classroom It is a set of personal values, ideas and beliefs. Every educator forms their own philosphy and apply it to their teaching.

  7. My personal philosophy of teachnology has changed since the beginning of the semester. • Here are some of the values that I’ve put into my philosophy... • I value the use of technology to enhance traditional teaching methods • I believe in creating an inclusive classroom through the use of technology • I value creativity as a fuel for ideas and original thoughts • I believe that ALL students should have a means of expressing themselves that best suits • them. • I believe that technology should not take away from material.

  8. EDU 210 has better prepared me for my future in Education. I now have a solid foundation for my Philosophy of Teachnology. Activities such as developing ‘my TPAK’ has made me more self-aware about where I am now in my teaching career. I have much more to learn but EDU has exposed me to different methods of teaching to consider and has helped be develop networking skills that will continue to aid me in the future.
