  3. Types of Sports Injuries • Soft tissue injuries- Bruises are the most common example of soft tissue injuries. Damage to soft tissues causes inflammation and takes a longer time to recover. • Hard tissue injuries- The fractures in bones and teeth are examples of hard tissue injuries. Such injuries often take more time to bring the athlete to get back to his normal routine. • Overuse injuries- Overuse injuries may cause pain in the affected areas during activity. • Head and neck injuries- Concussion is a mild brain injury which is a common example of head and neck injury.

  4. Prevention of Sports Injuries As long as you don’t experience any serious injury like swelling, bruising, inflammation, you can rely on icing and home remedies to cure it. But in case of serious tissue damage, you can’t just rely on pain killers to cure it. Ignoring your pains and strains in muscles will not do any good for your daily sports activity. Rather you may end up tearing or bursting your soft tissues if you do not stop your physical activity at the very moment of severe pain. Generally, every athlete takes little aches and bruises lightly which further develop into a major ailment. In case of serious sports injury, we would suggest you consult a sports medicine specialist for better treatment.
