About Mozilla Mozilla is a global community of volunteers, contributors and like – minded people who work towards the same goal  Openness, Innovation and Opportunity of the Web and associated Software Formed on 23rd February of 1998 by Netscape Communications as Mozilla Organization Mozilla Foundation launched on July 15, 2003.

  3. What We Do We are a non – profit organization who see success with People than with Share and Stake holders. We try to achieve our goal by building and promoting software like Firefox and movements like Drumbeat We want to see the Power and potential of Internet and want to see it thrive for everyone, everywhere.

  4. Mozilla’s Projects Mozilla’s Projects have been one of the most successful open—source movements in the recent years. Some of them are Firefox Internet Browser for Desktop and Mobile Platforms, Thunderbird Email Client, Seamonkey (formerly known as the Mozilla application suite), Lightning and Sunbird—Calendaring applications and Camino. We also promote WebFWD and Rainbow as a part of the Mozilla Labs Initiative. Not to mention the CouchDB, ZK, Gecko and the XUL Runner.

(Current stable release 6.0.2) Features: Extensions, Junk Filtering, Themes, Localization, Security and Wide Protocol support, auto-configuration settings for Email Setup, lightweight email reader. Extensively localized into 52 languages worldwide.

  8. Thunderbird– Tech Specs Email Protocols supported: IMAP, POP3. Addresses: LDAP. File-format supported –Mbox – Unix Mail box, Mork and SQLite – Internal Database Security – supports SSL/TLS connections to SMTP/IMAP Servers. Supports Digital Encryption of Email with native S/MIME support. Trivia : French Military uses Thunderbird and contributes to its security features

Seamonkey All in one Internet Suite consisting of Browser, Mail groups, Feed Reader, an IRC Client (ChatZilla) and Web Development tools Uses the same code as used on other Mozilla projects like, Firefox and Thunderbird. Seamonkey also consists of a WYSIWYG HTML Editor that is hassle—free and simple to use.

Sunbird and Lightning Sunbird – Standalone Calendar Suite Lightning – Integrates into Mozilla Thunderbird Sunbird developed as a part of Mozilla Calendar Project along with SUN Microsystems and volunteer support Runs on Mozilla’s XUL User Interface On Integration with Thunderbird, provides sync with Web Calendars like Google Calendar.

  11. Mozilla Drumbeat With Drumbeat, we go a step further in our mission to improve the Web.   12. WebFWD WebFWDWeb Forward. Fast track application development support and training to people with Creative Ideas that tries to bring up the Web Standards. Selected Candidates might join a 4—week Bootcamp (or) 6—month Internship programme. Support from Key Mozilla Head and Mentors. Opportunity to work at Mozilla HQ and access to resources.

  13. Boot to Gecko Mozilla believes that the web can displace proprietary, single-vendor stacks for application development. To ensure that Open Web Technologies sustain as the better basis for future applications, Boot To Gecko(B2G) was proposed. This is an early-stage, exploratory project with the goal of building a complete, standalone OS for the open web. It is not a product offering, but if successful, could form the basis for one.
