The Character of God Biblical truth- God is holy, perfect, and just; therefore, He hates sin and cannot tolerate it Bible verses- Ps. 5:4- “For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you” Ps 92:15- “there is no unrighteousness in him” Hab. 1:13- “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness”

The Sinfulness of Man Biblical truth- Man is a sinner by nature and choice; therefore, he deserves God’s wrath Bible verses- Rm. 3:10 ““None is righteous, no, not one” Rm. 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Eccl. 7:20 “Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.“ 1 Jn. 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves”

The Sufficiency of Christ Biblical truth- Jesus Christ became the perfect sacrifice; therefore, His death was sufficient for our salvation Bible verses- Rm. 3:24 “justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” 4:25”who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification” 5:6 “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly” 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

The Requirement of Faith Biblical truth- God initiates and provides salvation, but man must respond and receive it; therefore, faith is required Bible verses- Rm 5:1- “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, wehave peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Rm. 10:9,10 “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified” Gal. 3:16 “yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ“ Eph. 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith.”

The Necessity of Obedience Biblical truth- Repentance changes the sinners mind and heart; therefore, he longs to obey God Bible verses- Jn. 14:21 “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me.” 1 Jn. 2:4 “Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar 1 Jn. 3:10 “whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” 1 Jn. 5:18 “We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning” Titus 1:16 “They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works”
