Registration Process 2 • Starting the Conversation • Core Teachers make recommendations for next years’ classes in PLCs • Closed circuit presentations on Elective classes and registration forms/process for students • Registration Begins December 2015 • Registration during Advisory for grades 9-11 • Make-up registration for absent students • Letters will be sent home during second semester listing classes for next year.

Regular High School Diploma 4 • 24 credits • 4 English (Must include Expository Writing) • 4 Social Studies (Must include MHH and PID) • 3 Math (Must include Algebra 1 and Geometry) • 3 Science (Must include Biology) • 2 Required Electives (CTE, Fine Arts, Foreign Language) • .5 Health • 1 PE • .5 Personal Transition Plan • 6 Other Electives

  5. Academic Honors Diploma 5 • 4 Math-With one course beyond Algebra 2 • Must meet minimum score on EOCE (300)(ACT – 22) • 4 Lab Based Science (one must be Bio) • 2 credits must be AP, IB, Running Start or Early College • (Senior Project no longer required)

  6. CTE Honors Diploma 6 • Complete a program of study with a B or better in a Pathway (2-3 sequential courses plus the specific academic course) • Meet or Exceed Proficiency on Performance Based Assessment • Also: Meet Detailed State CTE Requirements as outlined for each specific Pathway

  7. STEM Honors Diploma 7 • 4 Math-With one course beyond Algebra 2 • Must meet minimum score on EOC (300)(ACT- 22) • 4 Lab Based Science (one must be Bio) • A STEM Capstone/STEM Senior Project

  8. Certificate of Completion 8 • For Special Education Students Only • Graduation Requirements Based on the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)

  9. College Readiness 9 • 4 Year Universities typically want: • 4 years English, • 3-4 years Math (at least Alg. 2), • 3-4 yearsLabScience, • 3 years Social Studies, • 2-3 years Foreign Language (Hawaiian not always accepted), • CA schools req. 1 Fine Art • Prefer a rigorous load Senior Year • College Applications identify Honors and AP Courses • Colleges Evaluate the Rigor of the Course Load • Dropping Rigorous Courses is Reflected on Transcripts

Athletics-NCAA 10 • No PLATO Classes are Accepted • Minimum core-course GPA of 2.3 required • SAT and ACT Score Requirements Sliding Scale • 10 core courses required by end of Junior year • 16 Total Core Courses in the following areas: • 4 years English • 3 years Math at Alg.1 or higher • 2 years Science (At least one lab) • 1 additional Core in either English, Math, or Science • 2 years Social Studies • 4 years additional from Eng., Math, Science, SS, or Foreign Language

AVID / Advancement Via Individual Determination Electives 15 • Elective class available all four years for “middle to upper middle” academic students who have the potential for honors and AP work in high school, but need academic and emotional support paired with the rigor. • AVID combines rigor with support that includes the student’s own individual determination and the support of teachers, other AVID students and their families, the AVID teacher, and university tutors. • Students must maintain 2.0 or higher GPA throughout the school year. • Requirements(application process) • GPA of 2.0 to 3.5. • May come from an “underrepresented” group • Should be able to complete four-year university requirements prior to graduation. • Must be a hard worker, have a positive attitude, and be collaborative in nature. • Physical Education • Required PE • PE Fitness/Lifetime Fitness PEP1005 • Required PE Electives 1 required • PE Lifetime Activities PEP1010 • Social Dance (semester only) PDP1410 • Hawaiian Dance (semester only) PDP1420 • JROTC PE TJR2025 • PE Electives-(do not count for required PE credit) • Weight Training I-II • Team Sports
