  2. What is dual enrollment? What Is Dual Enrollment The Dual Enrollment program provides funding for students at eligible high schools that are enrolled to take approved college-level coursework for credit towards both high school and college graduation requirements.

The benefits of Dual Enrollment? • Free tuition, textbooks, and mandatory fees (course specific supplies, lab fees, & transportation ARE NOT INCLUDED) • Students can attend classes 3 semesters per year (Fall, Spring, Summer) • Students can take up to 15 credit hours per semester • Dual Enrollment courses do not count against the future HOPE Scholarship/Grant cap hours • Allows students a head start in the college experience and college credit • Saves money towards a college degree

The Lanier Tech Advantage • LTC is Accredited by SACSCOC • Students in grades 9-12 can apply • LTC does not require a minimum GPA, SAT/ACT score, or a copy of your high school transcript for entry • LTC has 5 campus (Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Barrow, Jackson) plus online class options • LTC has 42 majors to choose from (Degree, Diploma, Certificate options) • LTC offers 28 general education courses (Articulation Agreement with USG) • Students can take academic college-level courses and/or career and technical courses • LTC offers small class sizes

  6. 42 program areasThree options (Cert, Diploma, Degree) • Auto Tech • Electrical Systems Tech (age requirement -16) • Cosmetology (beyond Shampoo Tech, there is a $700 kit required) • Welding (VERY limited space!) • Medical Assisting (age requirement – 17, must take core first)

Students Expectations Students: • Are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and cooperative manner • Are expected to attend all scheduled classes & complete assigned work on time (communicate with professor) • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA • Must maintain a 67% completion rate • Should be self-disciplineddue to the rigor of college coursework • Should dedicate a proper amount of study time to their coursework (GRADES STAY WITH YOU!) • Are required to return books after each semester • Will receive letter grades which will be submitted to their high school

Admissions consideration How do I apply? • Meet with your high school counselor and complete the Student Participation Agreement (SPA) & signature requirements • Submit the online LTC admission application available at www.laniertech.edu – for Spring/Summer 2019. Application deadline for spring term – November 7th • Pass the admissions test (ACCUPLACER) or submit official ACT or SAT scores or other acceptable readiness documents • Complete the Dual Enrollment funding application at https://www.gafutures.org/ • Attend an orientation & registration session with a Dual Enrollment Coordinator
