  2. Welcome to Indianola Park !

  3. The Main Entrance Gate to Indianola Park located at the intersection of E. 19th Avenue & N. 4th Street.

  4. Just a fewmore steps and you will be there!Have your nickels ready!

  5. Now you are inside, ready for an afternoon of fun.

  6. Indianola Park had its own version of the popular Shoot-the-Chutes.

  7. A rare view of the carousel ride at Indianola Park.

  8. The original Band Shell as it appeared in 1908.

  9. Phil Baxter and his “Texas Tommies” performed during the Big Band era of the 1920s and 30s.

  10. Indianola Park contained many shaded paths and picnic areas.

  11. Another view of the tables and walking paths under the trees.

  12. Two of the most popular features in Indianola Park were the Dance Pavilion and the famous swimming pool.

  13. A seldom seen view of the filtration and pumping systems for the pool.

  14. The pool was from 3 to 10 feet deep and heated for the first time on May 20, 1908.

  15. The “tunnel” to the ladies’ changing room.

  16. Another view of the “tunnel” on a very rare quiet day at the pool.

  17. The diving horses were a popular act guaranteed to draw a crowd.

  18. Park visitors could watch bathers in the pool. If they wanted to swim, bathing suits could be rented in the bath house.

  19. The Dancing Pavilion lit up at night for a concert.

  20. The lights of the Dancing Pavilion are reflected in the dark pool waters. The Pavilion is the only remaining reminder of the once popular Indianola Park.
