  2. Goal • Define information to be transported in Link Hints • Information should: • Help in choosing the next point of attachment • Help to faster discover network related parameters • Be applicable to various L2 technologies • Further assist enhanced mobility schemes in both MN and Networks

  3. Set of parameters • AR sets – MN sets • For each set: • Static parameters • Configuration parameters • Link status parameters • Interface status • Information on neighbors

  4. Link Status Parameters (Information on neighbors) • Available network ID • Available attachment ID • Advertisement frequency • Network configured data rate • Available radio link quality

  5. Specific AR set • Beacon period • Number of attached node • Attached MN status • Network identifiers • Max packet retransmission Access router with wireless interface Several APs linked to an AR
