  1. *New Course* PSYC 402 Practice Topics: Psychology, Movement, and Dance, 4 credits No dance experience required! Summer 2014, May 5 - June 6 MTWRF 12:20-2:20p This unique course will use physical movement and academic learning to engage your body and mind. The Nia Technique blends dance, martial arts, and healing arts such as yoga with music, simple choreography, and guided free dance to explore Your Body's Way. Photograph provided by Nia Technique Psychology topics will include cognitive behavior principles, nonverbal communication, group dynamics, neuroscience of movement, and healthy body image. Students will apply Psychology to their movement experience. We will discuss what research evidence exists or is needed to incorporate movement into Psychology professional practice and clinical interventions.
