  2. Vortex – Is the movement of a liquid or gas in a spiral around a central axis • Thunderstorm- is a disturbance in the earth’s atmosphere that involves lightning, and thunder.

  3. Hurricane-is a massive, rotating storm that originates over tropical oceans and has sustained winds of more than 119 km per hour. • Eye wall – ring of spiraling clouds and thunderstorms that whirl around the storm’s center and extend upward to almost 15 km above sea level.

  4. Typhoon –Hurricane that forms north of the equator in the western Pacific Ocean Cyclone – Hurricane that forms in the Indian Ocean or off the coast of Australia

  5. Funnel Cloud – rapidly rotating cloud that becomes visible at the base of a thundercloud • Tornado – rotating column of air that forms from thunderstorms over dry land under special conditions: when moist warm air meets cool dry air head on
