De júbilo o de culto. -- Exodo 15:20, “Y Miriam.. y todas las mujeres salieron tras ella con panderos y danzas”. ¿Abrazando hombres? ¿Estilo rock and roll? • I. DANCES IN THE BIBLE. A. Jubilant or of worship. – Ex. 15:20, “and Miriam.. And all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.” Embracing men? Like rock and roll?

Embracing men? Like the young people do in the “disco” or “club”?

Leaping as a religious act.

Culto con instrumentos. • Ps. 149:3, “Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and harp.” Men and women embraced? Coarse and vulgar movements of the hips? Worship.

Nada de hombres bailando con mujeres, ni de movimien-tos vulgares y groseros como en bailes modernos. • What kind of dance? Expression of religious fervor, even a part of their worship of God. Nothing like men dancing with women, nor of vulgar, indecent movements as in modern dances.

Dicen que es “buen ejercicio”, una “diversión inocente”. ¿Ingenuos o deshonestos? • II. THE MODERN DANCE. Schools (PTA), churches promote it (like gambling). Many defend it. Say it’s “good exercise,” an “innocent diversion.” Are they naïve or dishonest?

Si la persona que hace esta pregunta es sincera, es muy ingenua y hay que hablar con mucha franqueza. • “What’s wrong with dancing?” is a foolish question. If the person who asks it is sincere, he is naïve and we must speak with much frankness.

Muchísimas mujeres embaraza-das que buscan ayuda dicen que el problema comenzó en el baile.¿Necesita más prueba? • Dancing precedes the intimate relation. It’s a prelude to the sexual act. A great many pregnant women who seek help say that the problem began at the dance. Do you need more proof?

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Bien describe el baile moderno, como también lo que se llama “petting” (abrazar, acariciar y manosear, como en el asiento trasero del carro, como si fueran esposos, 1 Cor. 7:4, 5). • Well describes modern dance, as also what’s called “petting” (embracing, fondling, as in back seat of a car, as if they were husband, wife, 1 Cor. 7:4, 5).

Esta “baila bien,” es popular. • Teachers of dancing say that the woman cannot dance well unless she completely relaxes and yields her body to the embrace of the man with whom she dances. She “dances well,” is popular.

Hollingsworth, professor of Colombia University says that “Dancing is an exciting and pleasant diversion because it provides a partial satisfaction of the sexual impulse.”

Como en las danzas religiosas se expresaban los pensamientos y deseos de los que danzaban, lo mismo el baile moderno: obviamente el lenguaje es sexual. • Dancing is body language. As in the religious dances were expressed the thoughts and desires of those that were dancing, likewise the modern dance: obviously its language is sexual.

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • La mujer que se rinda a los brazos de hombres, y permita que la abracen, “ETC.”, ¿por qué preocuparse por la ropa que lleve? • The woman that yields herself to the arms of men and permits them to embrace her, “ETC.”, why worry about the clothing she wears?

Rom. 13:14, “vestíos del Señor Jesucristo, y no hagáis provisión para satisfacer los malos deseos de la carne”. ¡El baile lo hace… parcialmente! • II. Many texts condemn it. Rom. 13:14, “put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” The dance does it… partially!

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Muchísimas parejas han salido del salón del baile para cometer pecado sexual; es decir, para satisfacer los deseos desordenados estimulados por el baile. • A great many couples have left the dance hall to commit sexual sin; that is, to satisfy the improper desires stimulated by the dance.

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Gál. 5:16, “Andad en el Espíritu, y no satisfagáis los deseos de la carne”. -- Sant. 1:14, “Cada uno es tentado cuando de sus propias concupiscencias es atraído y seducido”.Suprimir, no estimular. • Gal. 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit, and you will not satisfy the lusts of the flesh.” James 1:14, “each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lusts and enticed.” Suppress, not stimulate.

Bailan solos. ¿Sólo muchachos? ¿Sólo chicas? • Young worldly young people say, “Where have you been? Young people don’t dance that way now. They dance alone. Only boys? Only girls?

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • No es cierto, pero sus bailes de rock and roll, twists, etc. son totalmente carnales, por los movimientos indecentes del cuerpo (lascivia). • This isn’t true, but their dances of rock and roll, twists, etc. are totally carnal, because of the indecent movements of the body (lasciviousness).

Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Otra palabra que condenan tales bailes es la palabra “komos” (orgía, Gál. 5:19), porque es precisamente lo que son… ¡orgías! • Another word that condemns such dances is the word “komos” (revelry, Gal. 5:19), because that is precisely what they are… revelry!

  27. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • IV. LA MUSICA NO LO HACE ACEPTABLE. ¿Qué hombre aceptaría que otros hombres hagan así con su esposa/novia si no hubiera música? • IV. MUSIC DOES NOT MAKE IT ACCEPT-ABLE. What man would allow other men to do that way with his wife/sweetheart if there were no music?

Increíble. • If there were no music such men would leave the place with their teeth knocked out. But if there is music, everything is normal and acceptable? Unbelievable!

  29. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Sin embargo, sí hay celos, pleitos, divorcios, hasta homicidios que resultan del baile – ¡aunque haya música! La música no basta para evitar tales escándalos. • However, there are jealousies, fights, divorces, even murders that result from the dance – even though there is music! Music is not enough to avoid such scandalous conduct.

  30. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • V. El baile es del mundo. 1 Jn. 2:15-17; Sant. 4:4. Por eso, huye, 2 Tim. 2:22, 1 Cor. 6:18; Prov. 6:27, “¿Tomará el hombre fuego en su seno sin que se quemen sus vestidos?” • V. Dancing is of the world. 1 Jn. 2:15-17; James 4:4. Therefore, “flee.” 2 Tim. 2:22; 1 Cor. 6:18; Prov. 6:27, “Can a man take fire to his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?”

  31. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • VI. El baile moderno es enemigo del alma, 1 Ped. 2:11. Destruye las barreras de la modestia y pudor, el sentimiento de vergüenza. 1 Tim. 2:9. • VI. The modern dance is the enemy of the soul, 1 Pet: 2:11. It destroys the barriers of modesty and shamefastness, sense of shame. 1 Tim. 2:9.

La hija dijo que no era cierto. • A father was angry because the preacher said this in a sermon. He said his daughter danced and that she was modest. The daughter said it was not so.

  33. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • El baile hace daño a la pureza moral del cristiano. Sant. 1:27; 1 Tim. 5:22; Efes. 5:27. • Dancing damages the moral purity of the Christian. James 1:27; 1 Tim. 5:22; Eph. 5:27.

  34. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • El bailar impide el crecimiento y desarrollo espirituales. 2 Ped. 3:18; Heb. 12:1; Fil. 3:14. • Dancing hinders spiritual growth and develop-ment. 2 Pet. 3:18; Heb. 12:1; Phil. 3:14.

  35. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Destruye la influencia del cristiano. Mat. 5:13, 14; Fil. 2:15, 16. No es asunto trivial. 1 Tim. 4:12. “Te invito a la iglesia”. “¿Tú vas a la iglesia?” “Sí”. “¿Qué estás haciendo aquí?” • Destroys influence of the Christian. Mat. 5:13; 14; Phil. 2:15, 16. It is not a trivial matter. 1 Tim. 4:12. “I invite you church”. “You go to church?” “Yes.” “What are you doing here?”

  36. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • ¿O. K. que los hermanos que predican, maestros de clases bíblicas vayan a los bailes? ¿Qué van a enseñar sobre “no améis al mundo”? • O. K. for brethren that preach, Bible class teachers to go to dances? What are they going to teach about “do not love the world”?

  37. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Aleja de Dios. -- Job 21:11,14, 15. ¿Cuál es la actitud de los que bailan hacia Dios? Son puros burlones. • Separates from God. – Job 21:11, 14, 15. What is the attitude of those who dance toward God? Pure mockery.

  38. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • VII. ¿Supervisión? Supervisar el fumar, jugar, tomar. ¿Hay X-ray para los pensamientos? ¿Supervisan la codicia? • VII. Supervision? Supervise smoking, gambling, drinking? Is there an X-Ray for thoughts? Super-vise lust?

  39. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Escuelas de Memphis, TN dejaron de tener bailes. Podían supervisarlos sí, pero no podían supervisar el resultado del baile, o sea, lo que pasaba después del baile. • Memphis, TN schools quit having dances. Could supervise them, yes, but could not supervise the results of the dance, that is, what happened after the dance.

  40. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • Conclusión. El pie que baila y la rodilla que se dobla en oración no se encuentran en la misma pierna. Personas que bailan no son espirituales. • Conclusion. The dancing foot and the praying knee are not found on the same leg. People who dance are not spiritual.

  41. Bailar es del Mundo – Dancing is Worldly • El bailar es del “mundo” (como los mundanos bien saben). Es lascivia. Es obra de la carne. Destruye la modestia y el pudor. Destruye la influencia.Ha sido tropiezo para muchos. • Dancing is of the “world” (as worldly people well know). It is lasciviousness. It is a work of the flesh. Destroys modesty and shamefastness. Destroys influence. Stumbling-block for many.
