“Grammar to Explain”. 분사구문은 시간 , 이유 , 조건 , 양보의 부사절을 분사를 이용해서 구로 고친 것이다 . 그리고 부대상황 ( 동시동작과 연속동작 ) 도 분사구문으로 바꿀 수 있다 . 부사절을 분사구문으로 바꾸는 방법 After she finished supper, she went out for a walk. ( 저녁식사를 끝낸 후에 그녀는 산책하러 나갔다 .) Finishing supper, she went out for a walk.

(저녁식사를 끝낸 후에 그녀는 산책하러 나갔다.) • Finishingsupper, she went out for a walk. • ① 부사절의 접속사를 생략한다: : .... she finished supper, she went out for a walk. • ② 부사절의 주어와 주절의 주어가 동일인인 경우에 부사절의 주어를 생략한다. • .... finished supper, she went out for a walk. • 부사절의 주어와 주절의 주어가 다른 경우에는 부사절의 주어를 생략하지 않는게 원칙이다. • (독립분사구문 참고)③ 부사절의 동사를 현재분사로 바꾼다: • Finishing supper, she went out for a walk • 시간을 나타내는 분사구문: While I waswalking along the river, I met a friend of mine. • = Walkingalong the river, I met a friend of mine. • 이유를 나타내는 분사구문: As she hadno appointment, she stayed at home. • = Havingno appointment, she stayed at home. • 조건을 나타내는 분사구문: If you turnto the right, you will see the post office. • = Turningto the right, you will see the post office. • 양보를 나타내는 분사구문:Though I livesnear the sea, I cannot swim. • = Livingnear the sea, I cannot swim. • 부대상황(연속동작)의 분사구문: The train starts at six, and arrivesthere at seven. • =The train starts at six, arrivingthere at seven. • 부대상황(동시동작)의 분사구문: He went away, wavinghis hand.(그는 손을 흔들며 가 버렸다.)
