  2. BUTTERMILK PIE • 3 eggs, well beaten • 2 cups sugar • 2 Tablespoons flour • 1 cup buttermilk • 1 stick margarine (I usually use about ¾ stick) • 1 teaspoon vanilla • Add sugar and flour to beaten eggs. Add buttermilk, margarine and vanilla. Pour into unbaked 9-inch pastry shell and sprinkle top lightly with nutmeg. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes; then reduce to 350 degrees and bake 45 minutes longer.

  3. SEASONED RICE • 1 cup rice (Uncle Ben’s converted original rice—NOT instant) • ½ stick margarine, melted • 1 can French onion soup • 1 can water • 1 small jar pimentos (drained) • Mix together and bake covered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour.
