  3. What is effective mentoring? • Mentor – “A person of greater wisdom”.1 • Definition - A wise responsible and experienced person who advices, guides, teaches, inspires, and facilitates the learning process for a less experienced individual.1

  4. Importance of mentoring2 • Increase knowledge, • Teaches cultural awareness, • Enhance leadership capability, • “Mentoring is a catalyst for an individual and organizational transformation”2

  5. Mentor-Mentee relationship3 • Mutual benefit? • What are the benefits for the mentor? - Challenging discussions with people who have fresh perspective, - Enhance their knowledge, - Opportunity to test new ideas, - Improved ability to share experience.

  6. Benefits of Having A Mentor • Individual recognition, • Encouragement, • Realistic perspective of “do’s and don’ts”, • Increases confidence,
