  11. What's new in Microsoft Teams Direct Routing now in Public Preview Microsoft Phone System Direct Routing is in public preview. Direct Routing takes the next big step by allowing customers to connect voice trunks to Microsoft Teams in many more countries around the world. If your country is supported by Teams and Phone System you can now start a self-managed preview of Direct Routing. Read the full announcement here. Set a delegate for calls within Teams Set up your delegate settings in Teams to assign people to make and receive calls on your behalf. Create a team using a previous one as a template When creating a new team, you can take an existing team and easily duplicate the settings. Choose what you’d like to copy from the original team (channels, tabs, team settings and/or members). Tailored Teams created through the New Teams APIs in Microsoft Graph With the help of the enhanced Microsoft Graph APIs, you will be able to programmatically manage Teams resources and content including teams, channels, and conversations.  We will be releasing the following APIs from preview to General Availability this summer: creating and deleting teams and channels; adding and remove team members and owners; and updating team and channel properties. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/What-s-new-in-Microsoft-Teams-June-Roundup/ba-p/200680

  16. What's new for your intranet in Office 365 Select which site sources you want to pull content in from – news web parts filter news from a variety of source sites, filtering based on content you want to show, in the layout you find most conducive to your overall site vision. Hub site news web part update – the unique ‘hub layout’ in the news web part for SharePoint hub sites will provide additional capabilities like pinning news articles, a new compact layout, and carousel support. Save for later – you can now save news articles to catch up on later, right from the Web interface of your intranet - as you can today on mobile. Simply click Save for later from the bottom of the news article and it gets added to your saved list, accessible from the Me tab in the SharePoint mobile app. You will also be able to access your saved list from SharePoint home. @mentions in news comments – similar to Outlook, it is now possible to @mention someone who has access to the news article within its comments and they will be notified and brought into the discussion. Did we @mention to you that there’s no easier way to loop someone in? 😉 Deem specific sites as “organizational news sources” – as news rolls up to people across their SharePoint home in Office 365, or via the news tab in their SharePoint mobile all, the news that comes from “organizational news source” sites will get special visual treatment bubbling up to the top of one’s view. Audience targeting – you can better define what news articles and pages appear on the home experience of your site by configuring what is visible to specific groups. Each person will have a unique experience that complies with what you wish them to view without creating multiple audience-specific sites, you can serve them all from within a more centralized location with a personalized, targeted experience. Audience targeting support will be enabled in news, pages and other web parts so that you can define and target who best to reach with content and site experiences. Page approval – establish a new and custom Microsoft Flow flows for approval. Simply name your flow, add the person who will approve your page, save it as a draft, submit for approval. Once approved, the page status gets updated to “published” and is visible to your intended readers. Approvals for news posts work out of the box thanks to integration with Microsoft Flow. Of which, you, too, can further customize your workflow to meet the needs of your specific approval process. Content organization (aka, page metadata & content filtering) – better organize your pages in libraries, and influence how they are viewed based on specific criteria (metadata) that you apply to the page itself. You choose what region or role, what page type or page status – and then present views that make it possible for people to see, or not see, the page based on how they meet that criteria. Add rich colors to the hub site header – you will now have choices beyond the color white. It’ll be easier and more flexible to adhere to your preferred company theme and brand colors across more aspects of the sites and pages. Approvals for hub site association – a flexible approval process further empowers hub site owners and site owners to make requests and programmatically adapt to changes within their growing, dynamic intranet. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-SharePoint-Blog/What-s-new-for-your-intranet-in-Office-365/ba-p/194168

  26. New Updates to OneDrive and SharePoint Team Site Versioning To further protect end-user data, we will require versioning with a minimum count of one hundred major versions for document libraries in SharePoint team sites and OneDrive for Business. Existing libraries that have versioning enabled but are set to retain fewer than one hundred major versions will be updated to retain the new minimum. Libraries already set to retain one hundred or more major versions will not be affected, including those with the default setting of five hundred. With these changes, the document library settings page will no longer support the ability to disable versioning or configure it to retain fewer than one hundred versions. Developer APIs, however, will still allow for setting any custom retention count and disabling versioning, however for the reasons stated above this is highly discouraged.  https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-OneDrive-Blog/New-Updates-to-OneDrive-and-SharePoint-Team-Site-Versioning/ba-p/204390

  27. New Capabilities for OneDrive New scan experience - We have made the built-in scan functionality in the OneDrive mobile app easier to access by adding a dedicated icon in the tab bar. It’s simple to add multiple pages, annotate, and change the file name or destination folder right in the capture experience. Camera upload support in OneDrive for Business- A very popular request in our UserVoice community, we are excited to announce automatic uploads for photos and videos captured to local camera roll on iOS and Android. Password protected links - We are adding the ability to set and require a password when you share a file or folder with other people. This will prevent others from accessing your files if your intended recipient accidentally forwards or shares the link. Of course, password protecting links are not needed if you use our secure external sharing. Block download - We are adding the ability to prevent users from downloading files shared via view-only links. This enables you to share Office documents in the cloud while preventing people from keeping offline copies. Known folder move - This capability will allow administrators to move known folders from their PC including Documents, Desktop, and Pictures to OneDrive. This includes support for initial account configuration as well as post-deployment migration. Team site automount - This feature offers administrators the ability to automatically connect and synchronize specific SharePoint team sites as part of a OneDrive deployment or upgrade process. External sharing reports - This feature will offer site administrators the ability to see all files on their site that are shared, including via anonymous links or secure external sharing This report can be exported into Excel or Power BI so you can filter and analyze sharing usage and patterns of your end users. These reports can also be imported to third-party management and security software. Customization of sharing emails - Administrators will be able to brand the outgoing sharing emails to recipients with their company logo. Note, this functionality will require Azure Active Directory Premium P1. Transfer ownership for deleted users - Currently when a user leaves an organization the ownership of their OneDrive files is transferred to her or his manager. Administrators will soon have the ability to transfer the ownership to any individual in the organization. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-OneDrive-Blog/New-Capabilities-for-OneDrive-Announced-Today-at-SharePoint/ba-p/194181
