  9. Industry Issues • We have multiple industry integration strategies. • We use multiple application providers that do not interoperate. • We can longer afford proprietary or individual company solutions.

  10. Conclusions • We need a Process Industry data integration strategy. • We need to align around a set of data standards. • We need to work together to be successful.

Workshop Accomplishments • Alignment of views and a sharing of data integration knowledge. • Relationship building between North American and European experts. • Greater understanding and status of the relevant international standards and the management/infrastructure process, AEX project, and XMpLant. • Comparison and analysis of existing data integration solutions. • A path forward agreed to by attending owner operators, EPC contractors, software suppliers, and consortia including goals, strategy and project plans addressing priorities and logical sequence of future activities.

Current Status • August Workshop strategy embraced by FIATECH Technology Roadmap, Lifecycle Data Management and Information Integration Team. • Dow, DuPont, and Shell Press Release issued January 18, 2006 representing 15 companies and international bodies. • New FIATECH project to accelerate deployment of ISO 15926 in support of August 2005 Data Integration Workshop. • Huge interest at daratechPLANT2006 Conference, January 23 – 25, 2006 in Houston, TX. • Building industry consensus and support for ISO 15926 adoption.
