  4. Prayer: Extend My Reach So far, Haiti seems so farfrom here where I live peering into a TV screen broadcasting misery that splatters across my chest.

  5. I want the images to do more than make me ache.I need cries for help to touch more than my ears.I long to matter to people when they most need aid.

  6. So far, Haiti seems so farfrom my ability to help.Extend my reach Lord.

  7. May my meager giftsof moneyprayerand a shoulder to cry onhelp one more person than would be helpedif I just turn awayand do nothing.(“Extend My Reach” by Kwasi Kena) http://www.gbod.org/worship/default.asp?act=reader&item_id=48397)

  9. Give to Week of Compassion for Haiti Relief Efforts Be Active: Church World Service in Need of Relief Kits

  10. Global Ministries missionaries, Patrick and Kim Bentrott were on the scene, though their building was damaged. In the first days after the quake, Kim, who oversees a clinic reported grim conditions at the center. "The CONASPEH building has been flattened," she said. "All my nursing students were inside. Yesterday we helped pull bodies out of the wreckage and heard some voices within the rubble. Efforts continued frantically all day to reach them."

  11. • Pray for the churches in Haiti, that they would find their strength in Christ in order to comfort their community in the face of great loss. Many churches have lost their pastors and leaders. Pray for them as they mourn. Pray the global church would continue to support the Haitian church in prayers, with their resourcesand financial support.
