  3. Google好手氣 • 「好手氣™」按鈕能自動帶領您直接到 Google 所推薦第一個網頁。您完全不會看到其他搜尋結果。「好手氣」讓您用較少的時間查詢，留下更多的時間去看網頁。 • 例如：台灣節慶 結果:http://www.gio.gov.tw/info/festival_c/index_c.htm

  4. Google toolbar • http://toolbar.google.com • 選[同意]>安裝進階功能>選[是]開始安裝 重新開瀏覽器, 就會見到它已經裝在您瀏覽器上了 。

  5. Google基礎搜尋若你不想漏掉任何可能資料用OR • 鍵入: 軟體 OR 免費軟體 • 結果:會搜尋有[軟體]或是[免費軟體]的相關關鍵字的網站。 • 缺點: 網站可能多如星海,不知從何查起 (Attention:OR要大寫且前後都要空格。)

  6. Google基礎搜尋空格和” “使搜尋更精準 • 鍵入 mary had a little lamb約有1,340,000項符合 • 鍵入 "mary had a little lamb“約有421,000項符合 • 差異何在? • 兩個關鍵字詞中間空一格，代表and，即網頁中必須含有以上兩個關鍵片語，其中“mary had a little lamb”加上引號，Google會搜尋含有該完整句子的網頁。 (參考資料來源:Google 在英語教學中的應用- 曾俊傑 – 敦煌英語教學電子雜誌 – 資訊廣場)

Exercise 1.(10 mins) • Search your own information on internet so that you will see if you are a celebrity or not. • Open a new power point file with a brief introduction of yourself on page 1, please. • Save the file • If you see someone famous has the same name as yours, copy some of his or her briefly introduction on the file, too.

  8. Google基礎搜尋 • 針對某網域或網站內的特定資料,使用site:___ • (Attention:)site:之後不空格,馬上打網址或網域。 • thanksgiving site:tpc.edu.tw 在tpc.edu.tw網域，關於thanksgiving大約有305項搜尋結果

  9. Exercise 2 (10 mins) • Search one lyrics of a song from mother goose rhyme • Record the amount of items by different key words. • Copy the lyrics on P.2 of your power point file. • Save again.

  10. Google進階搜尋希望從網頁標題找,使用intitle:___ • intitle:phonics teaching • intitle:teaching phonics • intitle:efl teaching phonics

  11. Exercise 3.(20 mins) • Under edu and com / org domains, please search two lesson plans of alphabet for efl learners that are quite useful to you. • Copy the sites as a link on p.3 of your file. • Please give briefly introduction of the lesson plans. • Save again.

  12. Google 進階搜尋inurl:___ ”keywords” • 可以把網址裡有關鍵字的網頁或資料夾找出來。 • 例1：inurl:phonics “ay” 約有802項符合inurl:phonics ”ay” 的查詢結果。

  13. Google 進階搜尋intext:___ • 可以把網頁內文有關鍵字的資料找出來 • intext:gingerbread man • intext:snowwhite • 好處:可避免亂取網頁標題或連結資料夾的網頁。

  14. Exercise 4.(20 mins) • Search one lyrics of your favorite English songs. Copy the site address as a link on p.4 of your file. If possible, save the mp3 as a link and teach us how to sing. Save again.

  15. Google與教師專業成長 特定格式研究報告 • 放在網路上的研究成果，通常會儲存成三種格式: • HTML網頁格式 • 微軟Office Word的doc格式 • Adobe(http://www.adobe.com)公司專屬的PDF格式。 • 尤其是pdf格式的文件，具有跨平台的特性，不管你的電腦是麥金塔或一般的PC電腦，皆可以讀取。無論是中文、英文或是日文版的PC電腦作業系統，都不會有呈現亂碼而無法開啟的現象。儲存成PDF格式的檔案，其價值與品質似乎都比較高。 (參考資料來源:Google 在英語教學中的應用- 曾俊傑 – 敦煌英語教學電子雜誌 – 資訊廣場)

  16. Google與教師專業成長 pdf格式研究報告 • 例如找尋reading strategy的PDF文件，可先輸入filetype:pdf，冒號後不需空一格，之後在pdf後空一格加上搜尋字詞。 • 例如： filetype:pdf parents' attitude to EFLsite:edu.tw 在edu.tw網域，關於filetype:pdf parents' attitude to EFL大約有28 項搜尋結果

  17. Exercise 5. • Search your prefer topic for tesl research which is saved as filtype:pdf Save the file as a link on p.5 of your file • 例如：讀者劇場 filetype:pdf約有613項符合讀者劇場 filetype:pdf的查詢結果 • Save again

  18. Google與教師專業成長 doc格式研究報告 • 把搜尋範圍縮小至特定格式的文件檔，而非一般的網頁，讓搜尋效率又往上提昇不少 • 例如：filetype:doc teachers' attitude to EFL intitle:efl 約有18項符合filetype:doc teachers' attitude to EFL intitle:efl的查詢結果

  20. Google與教師專業成長 主題研究報告 • Web Directory(http://directory.google.com) • Google Web Directory可以在最短的時間內提供老師們最直接的資訊，例如Directory裡頭就可以找到屬於lesson plans這一類的網站。使用方法如下：Reference > Education > Educators > K through 12 > Lesson Plans

  21. Exercise 7. • Search one website provided with free worksheets for phonics. Link the site and save the worksheet as a link on P.7 of your file. Save again.

  23. Google與教師專業成長 查詢同類型的其他網站 • 藉此可找到同質性較高的相關網站 • 語法related:www.abcteach.com類似www.abcteach.com大約有27項結果 • 語法related:www.teach-nology.com類似www.teach-nology.com大約有24項結果

  24. Exercise 8. • Searching one website provided free tools for making worksheets. Compare one domain with the other. • Compare one filetype with the other. • Record the different usages of keying in.

  25. Google 其他超強功能 • 英英字典隨手查 • define:blog • 網路上查詢blog在 英文的定義結果：Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site. • 網路上查詢blog的定義結果：網誌（Blog），或音譯為部落格，博客，是指網友個人撰寫於網路空間上的個人日記，屬於網路共用空間的一種。

  26. Google 其他超強功能 • 中英文字典 • Google 給中英文單字互譯帶來了極大的方便。輸入關鍵字(“翻譯”,“fy” 或“FY” 任選其一）和要查的中 (英) 文單字，Google會直接顯示您要查的單字的英文（或中文）翻譯。 • 例如：鍵入翻譯 tangerine 結果：tangerine: 蜜柑; 桔; 桔子; 橘

  27. Google 其他超強功能 • 圖片搜尋 • Google 的「圖片搜尋」是網路現今最好用的圖片查詢工具，目前收錄了超過 3.9 億張的索引圖片。 • 若要使用圖片搜尋，請進入進階搜尋頁或 http://images.google.com，在圖片查詢欄中輸入查詢，然後按一下「搜尋」鍵。在結果頁上，只要按一下縮圖就可以看到圖片的放大版，以及圖片所在的網頁。

  28. Google 其他超強功能 • 計算機 • Google 為用戶提供了一個內置計算機。只需要在搜索欄位中輸入算式，按一下 Enter 鍵或者搜尋按鈕就可以了。這個計算機可以用來做所有簡單的計算，一些複雜的科學計算，單位換算，以及提供各種物理常數。

  29. Final assignment for projects • You are supposed to display your project by Power point or Web page. • Your project should be related to your English teaching needs. • You are supposed to list out Your top 10 websites related to the project you choose.
