  1. Example: An optical system is made up of a biconvex thin lens L1 of diameter 6 cm and focal length f1 = 6 cm, a biconcave thin lens L2 of diameter 6 cm and focal length f2 = 10 cm and an aperture A of diameter 3 cm. The aperture A is located 3 cm in front of lens L1, which is located 4 cm in front of L2. An object OP, 3 cm high, is located 18 cm to the left of L1. • Determine which element (A, L1 or L2) serves as the aperture stop AS. • Determine the size and locations of entrance (EnP) and exit (ExP) pupils. • Determine size and locations of the intermediate image of OP formed by L1 and the final image of the system.
