  4. Sample Thesis • In “The Tiger” by S. Rajatanam, “Forty Five a Month” by R.K. Narayan, and “Marriage is Private Affair,” by Chinua Achebe, the characters, Fatima, Ven Kat Rao, and Okeke all experienced regret as a result of traditional cultural values conflicting with modern values. • One point remorse for three body paragraphs for each story

  5. Concrete Details • Must be a quote (one per paragraph) • Introduce the context of the quote • Use parenthetical citation • (Last name of the author followed by page). “She had wondered about the animal the whole evening. She hoped that is was far out of the men’s reach (Rajaratnam 178).
