  1. “o yes” and “tell me a riddle” By: Lizbeth Banuelos, brason angle and Jose

  2. “o yes” • It is a short story about two girls’ friendship and their racial differences, Carol and Parry. Parry is an African-American girl while Carol is white, Carol cannot figure out why their friendship is fading away and growing apart. They both have different lives and deal with different situations. Carol come face to face with both overt and subtle racial prejudices.

  3. “o yes” • Who was the person from school that she saw in front of her? • Eddie Garlin • What can you infer from how Jeanine was describing the way Carol and Parialee would separate?.

  4. “O yes” • She wrote this and you could feel that the author was writing from the point of view of a child.  She was constantly commenting on her thoughts and visions.  She was distracted and surveying the whole room inside the church. • Olsenwrote this story without traditional use of dialogue. In the story, frequently changes the perspective without any warning between the characters.

  5. “Tell me a riddle” • “Tell Me A Riddle” talks about a married old couple, David and Eva, and their last moments of being together. The story is mostly about the waiting death of Eva. Everything starts when Eva and David argue about where to live for their retirement.

  6. “Tell me a riddle” • What was one of the main struggles that Eva went through during the story? • Vivid, one Eva’s children, tries to thank her mother for everything she did for her and her siblings when she was a child. However, Eva is only resentful. Why do you think is that? • What was Olsen goal with this story?
