Celebrate Freedom WeekConstitution Day Observance The Byrd Amendment [ Public Law 108-447, Section 111(b)] requires that schools receiving federal funds teach the Constitution on Constitution Day. *Please look for your documentation form in your email and be sure to submit your documentation form to the Social Studies Curriculum Dept. • Constitution Hall Pass • Annenberg Classroom • Center for Civic Education • National Archives and Records Administration

Curriculum and Assessment Changes • Portrait layout • Transfer statement • Detailed pacing • Student Pre-requisite knowledge • Essential, supporting, and targeted vocabulary • New resources • Detailed assessment information • Model lessons/instructional resources • Short-cycle assessments administered once a 6 weeks. • More questions (10-20) on each SCA. • MoY I and MoY II are required for all campuses. • The SEs that are tested are listed in your CRM and YI. • Assessment calendars are available for download on Schoolnet.

Information for today Norms •  Attend sessions addressing your specific grade/course level. • Be on time to each session. • Bring your AISD-issued laptop computer to access session-related materials. • Listen and participate in each session, turning off cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices during presentations. • Stay until the end of today’s staff development training. Schedule 9:05-10:20 Session 1 10:30-11:50 Session 2 11:50-1:00 Lunch 1:00-2:15 Session 3 2:25-3:40 Session 4 *Please remember: Sign in at ALL sessions Obtain an attendance sticker at ALL sessions Turn in your attendance sheet to your Session 4 Presenter Complete the Educator Quality Evaluation at the end of Session 4
