  4. Understanding The Enlightenment • Europe was mainly dominated by either: • Absolute Monarchiesor Limited Monarchies • Absolute Monarchies Royal Family with sole control over the government. People have no rights.

  5. Understanding The Enlightenment • Limited MonarchiesRoyal Family is King or Queen but is limited by a Constitution and Legislature or Parliament. So they are limited in power and sometime just a figurehead in the Government with no real power.
