SDS/NTDG goals • To provide application and Database administration support and services for the students, faculty, and staff of ECU • State-of-the-art solutions for research, development and implementation of emerging technologies • Technological leadership regionally, statewide and nationally. • Cooperate with the UNC Shared Services Alliance initiatives.

About NTDG The NTDG team is mainly responsible for information systems for the following areas: • e-Business/e-Services applications • e-Commerce • Portal Infrastructure Development • Student-Centered Web Applications • Design, development and implementation of Internet/Intranet applications • Investigation of new technologies

  5. Development protocol • Cold Fusion, SQL Server, DB2 RDBMS • Team productivity (www.Fusebox.org) standards for multiple developers • Ability for expansion and plugging in additional tools and features

  6. One Stop Portal Environment • Dynamic Personal Information • User-Specific Applications • Communications Tools • Campus and External News and Info

  7. Security • Protection of Sensitive Data • Centralized Authentication • LDAP • Same username and password as university email system • Secure web server (SSL) • Encryption of code
