  1. The birth rate is the number of births per thousand per year. The birth rate of India is 20.6. India The death rate is the number of deaths per one thousand people per year. The death rate of India is 7.4. Some of the reasons why the death rate is low is because there is a Control over famines In the early days the high death rate was caused due constant famines in rural areas. However, after 1921, after independence, transporting facilities expanded to rural areas, so food could be transported and stop famine. Another reason is because of more of Medical Facilities they are now able to access a variety of medicines to help control deadly diseases such as cholera, plague, malaria and influenza. Some of the reasons why the birth rate is high is Poverty, children are seen as additional working hands in poorer families. The family feel that the children can help raise the the family’s income and also support their parents in their old age. Another reason is because of early marriage and mothers prefer to give birth to a male but some women keep giving birth to females rather than males. Some strategies to help reduce the birth rate could be stopping early marriages from taking place. And stop giving birth to several children.
