  1. Want a Good Band Score in Speaking Test of the IELTS Exam?

  2. Introduction IELTS exam is one of the popular exams among the people going abroad for study or employment. The full form of IELTS is International English Language Testing System. It is an English language proficiency test that is a compulsion for the people going abroad for two different purposes mentioned above. IELTS is taken to secure a place in a foreign university or firm for employment in those countries where English is treated as a major language. IELTS is composed of four different sections and candidates are judged based on those sections viz. Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking, for which top preparation institutions like IELTS Singapore are established. These institutions help candidates in getting better command over the mentioned sections to be able to score a good band in the ILETS exam. However, IELTS candidates are seen doing many things wrong which IELTS experts demand to avoid. So, in this blog, we have mentioned those things that you need to avoid to ace the speaking part if you're aiming for a good score.

  3. #1 DON’T RUSH TO ANSWER Rushing to answer without getting to know the question is one of the common and mostly committed mistakes by the candidates in the speaking part of the IELTS test. It is suggested to take a moment to organize thoughts after listening to the question and answer accordingly. This is because instant answers can back-fire sometimes if they go off-track. Having said that, don't take too long to prepare your answer because there's no such perfect answer!

  4. #2 DON’T ANSWER IF YOU DON’T GET THE QUESTION PROPERLY You might not understand some questions in the speaking test of the IELTS exam. But, you don't need to worry about this, because, you can ask your examiner to repeat the questions or elaborate on a particular word. However, this doesn't mean that you can ask the question or explanation over and over again in the speaking test of the IELTS exam Singapore.

  5. #3 NEVER HESITATE TO CORRECT YOURSELF If you think, you've mistakenly spoken something wrong in the IELTS test Singapore, don't hesitate to correct yourself there and then. This leaves a good impression about you in the mind of the examiner, because, this shows that you're aware of your mistakes and you know how to correct it. Yes, it is important to correct yourself at times, but don't bother correcting every error during your speaking test of the IELTS exam.

  6. #4 ROTE LEARNING IS BAD FOR SPEAKING TEST Let me warn you, it is not possible to fool an examiner with your memorized answers. They can easily recognize the scripted answers. So, better try not to fool them, else your band will suffer for sure. That's why you need to practice answering viva questions in your own words during IELTS preparation.

  7. #5 COMPLEX WORD CAN STRIKE BACK Some candidates prefer using big and complex words while speaking in the IELTS testthinking they can impress the examiner. However, if you're doing for the sake of show-off, let me tell you can get yourself into trouble. Suppose you use a complex word in your answer and you don't know the meaning of it if asked. Then that can be problematic for your band score. Don't you think so my friend?

  8. FINAL WORDS Speaking test can yield you some good band score if you stick to the basics of it. At the same time, you should make sure that you’re taking care of the things mentioned above during your speaking test of the IELTS exam.
