Espejo, Jr., a.k.a “Ka Jun,” multi-awarded agriculture scientist practitioner for over two decades, FAC’s primary vision and mission is to develop appropriate technologies and produce high yielding crops that are climate change-adapted, goal which are in line with national and international sustainable food security agenda. Fullgreen boasts of having developed alternative agriculture methods in crop production, pest management and post production protocols. 6. How did the Sweet CatimonMango came about? The Sweet Catimon Mango mango strains produced by Fullgreen did not come out from nowhere. It is a product developed and produced by FAGC from over 20 years of intensive research in cross breeding of the best mango varieties found in the country today. And with the genius of agriculturist scientist practitioner Ka Jun Espejo, he developed a proven cultural management protocol for early and continuous fruiting of Sweet Catimon Mango.

  7. Sweet Catimon Mango is not serendipitous discovery Processes of closely monitored mango strain culture research, selected scion twigs, healthy spliced grafts, testing of cross pollination of mango flowers, and application of other scientific methods in pilot areas resulted in a mango strain with characteristics not found in traditional Philippine mango varieties today.

  8. Field trials of over 20 years did it! Agriculturist scientist practitioner Rogelio B Espejo, Jr., President & CEO of Full Green Agro Corporation tested the application of the right amounts and combinations of different types of fertilizers, growth hormones and enzymes that he developed in his laboratories and applied to multiple varieties in several pilot areas in Catimon, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, and hence the name, Sweet “Catimon” mango was derived.

  10. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 1.Bears fruit within twelve months (1 year) to eighteen months (1 ½ years) after transplanting of mango seedlings. (Produce mango fruits for table consumption and for fruit processing within a short period)

  11. Each seedling carries a Warranty Certificate (Fake Catimon seedlings do not have Warranty Certificates)

  12. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 2. There is no need to apply flower inducer. (Environment friendly and significantly cuts costs of inputs of production like chemicals and labor)

  13. This strain bears fruit even without spraying flower inducer. Unlike other mango varieties, it is not affected by rain.

  14. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 3. There is no need to apply pesticides because it does not attract mango hoppers. (Environment friendly and less cost of production inputs and to some extent, organic it is fruit)

  15. Environment friendly and organic mango. There is high demand for healthy fruit.

  16. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 4. Continuous fruiting (From January to September) (More income from mango production especially during off season period and more table food and supply for mango processors)

  17. From seedling to a matured mango tree, the Sweet Catimon bear fruits that are consistently sweet.

  18. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 5. It is easy to raise or grow. (It can be planted in open lots or even in pots. It requires small space/area and thrives even with 50% sunlight exposure; higher plant density at 200 to 300 trees per hectare)

  19. Sweet Catimon Mango can grow in almost all kinds of terrain. Even in pots it bears normal-sized fruits.

  20. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 7. Easy source of income (More income can be derived from high-yielding mango trees that bear fruits 9 months of the year. Fertilization is done during the rest of the year)

  21. The most saleable Sweet Catimon mango strains: Magnolia (left) and Giant Variety (right)

  22. Advantages of planting Sweet Catimon Mango 8. Comparable with the famous carabao mango in sweetness and taste. (Presentable and highly acceptable to consumers because of the absence of fibers, sweet taste and thin seed)

  23. The most popular Sweet Catimon mango fruits: Green or Ripe are not sour in taste.
