  4. Helpful Hints When Writing A Mystery! • Have well developed characters, settings, and plots. • Mysteries are usually realistic. • Should include a mystery to be solved. For example: Who did it? What is it? How did it happen? • And don’t forget to include clues and distractions. Sometimes a clue might be mistaken for a distraction, or a distraction might be mistaken for a clue.
