  1. I don’t want to end up like my friend. I hear that COMACO and ZAWA allow poachers to surrender their guns to access skills and markets. This is my choice. Take my gun!! Look how I’ve wasted my life and how my family will suffer. I’ve been caught poaching and now in hand cuffs – what will happen and was their a better way? You know boss; I did not believe you when you asked me to surrender my gun and learn new skills. Now look me, I am a carpenter and a farmer. Snaring wildlife is not a skill I want to pass on to my children – I hear COMACO helps people like me to learn something better for my future. Giving poachers a way out of their destructive life and helping communities rebuild their wildlife resources My friend, I am your COMACO trainer. Let me help you plan a better future. All these activities can help reduce pressure on wildlife and forest

  2. After a year with COMACO, supported with skills and inputs, I am able to earn more than when I was a poacher. My kids are in school and I can enjoy my family. I wish all poachers could follow my example. By practicing better farming skills, exchanging meat for food is not needed any more. I have vegetables in the dry season for home consumption and local sales With the few tools I have managed to make my own furniture. Soon I hope to selling some. With my two bee-hives I can make over K150,000 per year I my chicken flock is larger and gives me food and income I’ve made the change and so can you. See a COMACO lead farmer or extension manager to learn more how we as a community can live with wildlife and keep our natural resource safe and still have a better life for our children. We can correct out mistakes of the past to back to Zambia her trees and wildlife.
