  3. Spurn (spern) • To reject; refusing to accept • Noun/verb • Sentence: Ms. Peck told me to do all 20 vocabulary words and I spurned her. • HTR: REJECTION!

  4. Inconsequential (in-Kan-sek-Wenchel) • Insignificant, Irrelevant • Sentence: When I hear gossip, I take it as it being inconsequential. • HTR: Double I’s

  5. Despondent (di-spun-dent) • Discouraged; without hope • Adjective • Sentence: After getting rejected so many times, she was very despondent. • HTR: Double D’s  Ha-ha
