  7. 1. Be Honest About Your Sin.

  8. Rationalize • “Woe unto them that call evil good,...that put darkness for light,” (Isa. 5:20) • Blame Game • -Minimize

  9. “For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:” (Psa. 51:3-4)

  10. 2. Confess Your Sin To God.

  11. Forgiveness “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.” (Psa. 51:1)

  12. Cleansing “Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin...Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” (Psa. 51:2,7)

  13. Renewal “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psa. 51:10)

  14. Restoration “Restoreunto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” (Psa. 51:12)

  15. “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” (Rom. 5:20)

  16. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 5:9)

  21. Draw Strength From God “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” (Eph. 6:10)

  22. Avoid The Triggers “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” (Prov. 4:14-15)
