  2. Funding • $800,000 will be available to fund the FY 2003/2004 Waste Tire Track And Other Recreational Surfacing Grant Program • $100,000 maximum for each grant • Match is 100% unless applicant provides verification of extreme financial hardship, then match is 50%

  3. The General Review Criteria • Need: 25 points • Goals/Objectives: 10 points • Work Plan: 5 points • Evaluation: 5 points • Budget: 10 points • Completeness, letters of support, experience, etc.: 5 points • Evidence of a Recycled-Content Purchasing Policy or Directive: 15 points

  4. Program Criteria • Recycling and Sustainable program: 5 points • Prior Waste Tire Playground Cover or Track and Other Recreational Surfacing Grant: 5 points (In FY 2001/2002 and/or 2002/2003) • Cost per tire: Estimated cost of California tire diverted from the waste stream: up to 10 points • Economic Need: Up to 5 points (0, 2, 3, or 5 points) project is in a Zip Code Tabulation Area that demonstrates economic need-- based on the median household income data from the 2000 U.S. Census.
