  1. Walla Walla Wineries of Kazzit

  2. We tend to think of wine country as a place where visitors come to sample the wines being made there on a daily basis, but it is also a place where established wine from other countries come to stake their claim.

  3. One of the fastest growing wine areas in the US can be found in Washington, where the Walla Walla Valley region is expanding at a rate that has some people calling it the next Napa Valley. As fast as this region is growing, the beauty of the area is that it is still mostly home to small, family run wineries that welcome visitors with open arms.

  4. The first Walla Walla wineries hit the map in the late 70’s, with Leonetti Cellar credited with being that one that gave credibility to the region. Many great wineries started to follow, and by 1984 the region had been officially recognized by the American Viticultural Association.

  5. As of today, there are over 100 different wineries in Walla Walla, all of which are spread across 1800 acres of land. As you might imagine, there are a host of different varietals on offer, and the fact that the wineries are still so small means that you really get the opportunity to talk to the wine makers about how they create their wines.

  6. The Washington wineries in Walla Walla are essentially split into 4 different regions, each with their own unique vibe and feel. With so many wineries and tasting rooms to choose from, it might be tough to see everything on offer in a single visit.

  7. If you live within driving distance, you might consider taking 4 separate trips so that you can spend a good amount of time in each of those areas. What you get to choose from are downtown, south of town, west side, and east side. You might even try hitting a few different wineries in each area to see which appeals to you the most.

  8. One of the best ways to get to the top wineries in Walla Walla is via a guided tour, and there are many to choose from. This is certainly a better option than driving, especially if you plan on doing a lot of sampling, and there are tours to suite groups of all sizes. You can get a private limousine tour built just for two, or you can get a larger tour bus so that a bunch of your wine loving friends can come along for the ride.

  9. If you are planning on visiting Washington wineries sometime in the future, you may want to plan your travels around one of the many wine events that take place in the region. There are certain times of the year when the cellar doors are cracked open and new wines are released for tasting.

  10. This is your opportunity to get a little sample of something that you may never have had before, which is always a major plus when visiting wine country. There is literally a major event for every season, so check what’s going on before you travel, as you may end up missing on something sepecial.
