  15. Why Church on Sunday? • Out of habit • Guilt • Fear • Pride • Emotionally attached • For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no-one can boastEphesians 2:8-9 (NIVUK)

  16. Why Church on Sunday? “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another” Hebrews 10:25a (NIVUK) Sunday: inspirationand information Monday to Saturday: application

  17. Fan or Follower? The difference is COMMITMENT • We like the benefits but not the cost • We turn up but doesn’t change our lives • Jesus is our Saviour but we won’t recommend Him • We believe in prayer but don’t spend time • We value the fellowship but not the sacrifice

  18. James 1:22-27 (CEV) • Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it. If you hear the message and don't obey it, you are like people who stare at themselves in a mirror and forget what they look like as soon as they leave. But you must never stop looking at the perfect law that sets you free. God will bless you in everything you do, if you listen and obey, and don't just hear and forget. • If you think you are being religious, but can't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and everything you do is useless. Religion that pleases God the Father must be pure and spotless. You must help needy orphans and widows and not let this world make you evil.

  19. Am I “in Christ”? God's plan is to make known his secret to his people, this rich and glorious secret which he has for all peoples. And the secret is that Christ is in you, which means that you will share in the glory of GodColossians 1:27 (GNB)

  20. Moving Onwards • Have I settled whether I am in Christ or not? • What are the 3 most important things I’ve learned about being in Christ? • What have I done about them? • Who can help me develop further? • Am I a fan or a follower of Jesus?
