  2. Today Sanghai First city of China, cosmopolitan and connected to Shangai capital, a recent city which counts more than 14 million inhabitants. The old city, the Chinese city and the French city have multiple attractions, Gardens and temples which invite you to serenity. Shangai is located in the estuary of the Yangtze-Kiang river. In 1843, after the Anglo-Chinese war (war of opium), Shangai opens with the foreign trade. Many Chinese tourists tour day like night Bund, one of the most famous avenues of the world with its elegant colonial frontages of the beginning of the century. More than 5 km in length, the street of Nankin, large commercial artery of Shanghai, is cut by the park of the People (Renmin public garden), go flâneurs, the in love ones and amateurs of kites. To the south of Bund, one enters the old Chinese city of Shanghai Nantoa true labyrinth of lanes, of houses on a floor bleached with lime, the pavements are encumbered players of mahjong. The Huangpu river separates Shanghai in two parts: Puxi on left bank, or are principal attractions and the monuments of the city. On right bank, Oudong: the district of businesses. Après avoir dépassé le port de Rotterdam en 2003, celui de Hongkong en 2004, et celui de Singapour en 2005, Shanghai est désormais, grâce au dynamisme de la Chine, le plus grand port du monde mais complètement engorgé avec une croissance annuelle de son trafic de 30%. Ne pouvant plus s'étendre, en 2000/2001, il fut décidé de construire un nouveau port en eau profonde sur les îles Yangshan au large de Shanghai. Ce nouveau port devant être relié au quartier de Guoyuan par un pont gigantesque — le pont de Donghai — le plus long du monde ondulant en pleine mer sur pas moins de 32,5 kilomètres avant d'atteindre son objectif, afin de suivre les hauts fonds capables de soutenir les fondations. S'il s'agit d'un pont, pas moins de 470 piliers ont été posés dont certains à cent mètres de profondeur d'un coût de 14 à 15 milliards d'euros. Le 1er décembre 2005 a été inauguré le plus long pont du monde, le pont de Donghai qui relie la ville au nouveau port en eau profonde sur les îles Yangshan.
