Aspects of Other Sector’s Work -Learning Exchanges among client countries LINKS WITH ENV. INSTITUTIONS -“Components” of Loans to help Strengthen Env. Agencies -Stand-Alone Bank or Donor support (IDF, Carbon, etc) for institutional strengthening -Work with Macro/Public Finance Teams on Env. Expenditure Reviews -Publication of Annual “Green” Data (Development Indicators) -Work with clients on governance, public administration, and other areas of policy reform with environment links (ie. privatization) Type of Work in the Region

  5. Focus of Work in this Region • EU Accesssion! This is the main focus of our clients- and we gear our programs to help complement this process • We seek to facilitate inter-regional and international learning and exchange, and dissemination of best practices • We promote good tools for economic development • Capacity and development of institutions is fundamental to growth and development • Strong Environmental Institutions are critical for Sustainable Development • Environment Institutions are usually younger and weaker than others and we seek to advocate for their needs.

  6. Strengthening Environ. Institutions and Cooperation with ECENA • Study/program contracted to the REC to build from historic involvement in accession states; presence in ECENA countries and new/recent member states; and leadership role w/ ReRep and ECENA • Aimed to fill in gaps in knowledge and introduce new practices • We want to know more about your challenges to be able to assist in the best possible way • Joint learning and work with our clients is the best way
