  3. Legislation • Chapter 2008-116 Laws of Florida SB 1892 – created the State of Florida Data Center System. • Consists of two Primary Data Centers (PDC) • Southwood Shared Resource Center Established 7/1/2008 • Northwood Shared Resource Center Established 7/1/2009

Legislation • Corrected small issues with SB 1892 • Allowed for the NSRC Board to begin prior to July 1, 2009 • Changed the number of Trustees from member departments/agencies but retained prior number of votes SB2574 commonly called the “glitch bill” was passed this Legislative session and became law upon signature of Governor Crist. This bill:

  5. Northwood Shared Resource Center Effective July 1,2009 the Northwood Shared Resource Center is established within the Department of Children and Families for administrative purposes only. The center is designated as a primary data center and shall be a separate budget entity that is not subject to control, supervision or direction of the department in any manner, including, but not limited to, purchasing, transactions involving real or personal property, personnel, or budgetary matters. Boards Primary Responsibility Each board of trustees of a primary data center shall: • Maintain the primary data center’s facilities. • Ensure conditioned floor space, fire suppression, cooling, and power • Replace aging equipment when necessary; • Ensure annual cost-allocation plan recovers sufficient funds to provide for these needs s. 282.201(2)(e).
