Your quarterly grade will be determined as follows: Class Participation 20% Student will: ~bring all materials to class ~be ready to work when the bell rings and remain on task for the entire period. ~actively participate using the target language creatively, effectively, comprehensively & level-appropriate. Your proficiency in the language will be assessed in relation to the appropriateness of your vocabulary and structures used, as well as the thoroughness of your replies. Furthermore, an active participant is always well-prepared and willing to take risks in class!! Assessments 60%: Assessments will include: ~quizzes and tests (oral and written-includes final exam in June) ~projects (that will be presented in class) -speaking assessments (spontaneous/dialogs) All tests will be announced approximately one week beforehand. However, quizzes may beannounced or unannounced – so it is important that you review. If you are absent on the day of an assessments, arrangements will be made for you to make it up. Homework 20%: Homework assignments will only receive full credit when they are completed on time. If you are legally absent you have one day to make up the assignment- it is YOUR responsibility to obtain the homework assignment from a classmate, on-line OR your teacher. All homework assignments will be posted online, however since technology (computers!) can at times be finicky ... you should also get in the habit of writing your assignments in your agenda book. Please check the teacher page daily for assignments.
