Eerste Strofe: Rooikappie • Klein Rooikappie stap na die woud • (Little Red Riding Hood walks to the wood) • na Ouma toe, maar skrik haar koud, • (to go to her grandma, but gets a big fright) • en sy wou flou val, ja, gewis, • (she wanted to faint, yes, for sure) • toe ‘n BMW haar net-net mis. • (when a BMW just missed her)

Tweede Strofe: Rooikappie • En by die stuurwiel, dik en vet, • (And at the steering wheel,big and fat) • vol Old Spice en ‘n sigaret • (smelling of Old Spice and smoking a cigarette) • sit Hendrik Janse van der Colff, • (sits Hendrik Janse van der Colff) • bekend as padvark, én as wolf. • (Known as typical bad BMW driver and as a wolf [guy that has other intensions with girls])

Derde Strofe: Rooikappie • “Wil jy ‘n lift hê, liewe diertjie? • (Do you want a lift, my dear pet?) • Dan gee ek jou ‘n koue biertjie.” • (I’ll give you a cold beer) • Maar darie goeie kind Rooikappie • (But that lovely child Red Riding Hood) • dink aan woorde van haar pappie: • (Thinks of her Daddy’s words)

Vierde Strofe: Rooikappie • Pas tog op vir vreemdelinge • (Beware of strangers) • met hul lollipops en dinge… • (With their lollipops and things) • Gedagtig daaraan sê sy NEE! • (Remembering her father’s words she says NO) • en hoor net motorbande skree. • (and hears the car tyres scream away)

Vyfde Strofe: Rooikappie • Maar toe sy by haar ouma kom • (But when she arrived at her Ouma’s house) • was sy geskok en skoon verstom, • (she was shocked and amazed) • want naas haar in die dubbelbed • (because next to her in the double bed) • lê Hendrik Janse, breed en vet. • (lies Hendrik Janse, big and fat)

Sesde Strofe • Haar ouma sug: “My nood was groot, • (Her grandma sighs, my need was huge) • want Oupa is so lankal dood…” • (because Grandpa has been dead for so long) • Toe sluk die tweetjies aan ‘n Carling, • (Then the two of them sipped some beer) • en sê die wolf: “Nou’s jy my Darling” • (Now you are my darling)

Sewende Strofe: Rooikappie • Hier’s ‘n les: Wees nés Rooikappie. • (Here is a lesson: be just like Red Riding Hood) • Luister áltyd na jou pappie. • (Always listen to your daddy) • Maar beslis nie na jou ouma. • (but definitely NOT to your grandma) • Anders wag verdriet en trouma… • (other wise sorrow and trauma will await you)
