  6. DAY 1 :TRAVEL TO MONTRÉAL • Wednesday, February 15th, 2012. • Late departure by deluxe motor coach from your school to "La Belle Province”. • 11hrs en route. Students will sleep on the bus and wake up in Canada. • Recommended by M. Burdett who has taken his Orchestra on far longer trips. Band also travels farther by bus. • Will be our own bus, and stay with us through our tour. With sufficient numbers, motor coach travel is much more affordable than flying, and will make our border crossing easier. • By Comparison, Washington D.C. is an 8 hour trip.

  7. DAY 2 : MONTRÉAL /QUÉBEC CITY • Thursday, February 16th- • Bonjour Montréal! Your Prométour Tour Director will greet you upon arrival; s/he will remain with you for the duration of your trip. • Have some time to explore Place Jacques Cartier and St. Paul Street in Old Montréal

  8. Stretch you legs and have fun with some Patinsà Glace at the Basin Bonsecours. • Have a delicious crêpe lunch with your group

  9. Next, visit the very birthplace of the city at Le Musée Pointe-à-Callières– The multimedia show, artifacts and virtual figures make a living, interactive experience.

  10. Enter the fabulous world of the Biodôme. Stroll through the four major ecosystems of the American continents. Spend a few minutes watching the penguins or looking for the monkeys playing in the trees above your heads as you stroll through the five major ecosystems of the American continents. • Transfer by private motor coach to Québec City, the provincial capital, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. A 3 hour drive. • Dinner in a local restaurant with your group, followed by overnight accommodation in Québec City.

  11. DAY 3: QUÉBEC CITY • Friday, February 16th • American breakfast with your group at the hotel. • SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY: Visit a French Canadian school followed by lunch with your new classmates.

  12. In the afternoon, Partake in “The Military”. Under the command of generals Wolfe & Montcalm, re-enact the 1759 battle on the Plains of Abraham. • Next, share the secrets of Old Québec on a guided walking tour of the city. Journey through St-Louis Street, admire the old town’s fortifications and Quartier Petit Champlain shopping district. (the oldest in North America)

  13. Visit the magnificent Château Frontenac. • Dinner in a local restaurant with your group, followed by overnight accommodation in Québec City.

  14. DAY 4:QUÉBEC CITY • Saturday, February 18th • Have breakfast while overlooking the waterfalls at the Manoir Montmorency. • Discover the magnificent Parc de la Chute Montmorency, with its falls higher than those of Niagara Falls.

  15. Get ready for an afternoon of Dog Sledding! Start with a visit of the gentle huskies followed by an introduction to basic techniques, and then embark for a ride through wooded trails. • Strap on your snow shoes and try your trekking skills.

  16. Make a stop at the Copper Museum of Albert Gilles - watch a demonstration of "Repoussé" work, then try your hand at creating a copper masterpiece. • Admire the beautiful Ste-Anne de Beaupré Basilica. • Return to Québec City just in time for lunch (at your own expense)

  17. In the afternoon, visit the Museé de la Civilization • Have some time to wander through the enchanting Quartier Petit Champlain the oldest shopping district in North America.

  18. Time for team work! With the help of your Tour Leaders and guide, have some fun on a Photo Rally Game. Test your knowledge on everything you have learned about Québec on your trip so far! • For dinner, savor a traditional Cabane à Sucre and tour the sugar shacks. Learn some traditional dances and sing some folk • songs. • Return to your hotel for night accommodation

  19. DAY 5: QUÉBEC CITY/MONTRÉAL • Sunday, February 18th • American breakfast with your group at the hotel. • This morning, visit the Hotel du Parlement, where you will learn about the history of the Québec National Assembly

  20. Then, visit the amazing Ice Hotel, the unique hotel entirely made of ice in North America.

  21. Enjoy the rest of the morning at the Village des Sports, a winter activity center where you will experience snow rafting, sliding on inner tubes and crazy carpets! (lunch at the village des sports at your own expense).

  22. Upon Arrival in Montréal, check into your hotel and freshen up. Enjoy a farewell dinner at the trendy Académie Restaurant.

  23. DAY 6: MONTRÉAL/HOME • Monday, February 19th • American breakfast with your group at the hotel. • With your guide explore Montréal’s world famous Underground City. • Have some time for some last minute shopping.

  24. Have lunch at one of the many restaurants at the food court. (at your own expense) • Board your bus for the return home. Arrival ETA 11pm

  28. Other Considerations • Students will need to have their own passports. • Winter in Québec is very cold and snowy. Students will need to have good winter footwear, coat, hat, gloves, and layers. • Deposits are due by February 28th to make the trip a go. As the number of students goes up, the price will come down. • Chaperones (Teachers and/or parents) will be added as needed • We will have many future meetings to prepare the group for their trip.
